Mission Statement

CHILDREN MENDING HEARTS IS DEDICATED TO COMBATING BULLYING AND INTOLERANCE BY INSPIRING EMPATHY IN CHILDREN THROUGH ART AND SERVICE-LEARNING PROGRAMS.

Description

We need volunteers to help pack the art projects to be sent to teachers across the USA to help them teach empathy and kindness in their classrooms.

Since 2008, Children Mending Hearts has been dedicated to bringing an end to bullying and intolerance. Our nonprofit accomplishes this by teaching children about the concept of empathy. We inspire them to be positive change-makers through arts education and social-emotional learning.

Our results have been incredible. 91% of teachers using our programs say that their students have shown an increase in empathy and a decrease in bullying since the start of this year. But there are countless schools, many low-income/Title 1, who are on the waiting list for our programs.

Would you recommend Children Mending Hearts?

They sent a spread sheet with volunteer assignments to all volunteers containing full names, street addresses, cell phone number and email addresses. This is a significant breach of privacy and not something which can be undone. I'm not in the habit of telling hundreds of people that I won't be home and then giving them my address. I am supposed to do something with them tomorrow, and I'm really struggling with this.
