Building Strength Offering Hope. For Females Living With HIV/AIDS

A Sister's Gift is a 501 (c) 3 charity located confidentially in Downtown Dallas. Our Women's Center operates with family-oriented philosophies in a caring and female-based environment.

We offer a unique line of social services and support for women/girls in Dallas and abroad. Our services target and attract women who are mothers, disabled, low income, have limited food, clothing and support.

Founded by Cheryl Edwards in memory of her brother, Ronald D. Lewis who lost his battle to HIV/AIDS in 1995.

I would not recommend anyone wanting to volunteer to contact this agency. Mrs. Edwards, the Executive Director, is very unprofessional, rude and abusive to her volunteers. I volunteered at her agency very briefly and was treated very poorly by her and also witnessed her mistreatment of other volunteers. I also felt that she treated her clients with clear disdain and didn't seem at all interested in truly providing services and assistance to them, especially clients who disclosed a previous history of drug issues. She was rude and sent me several verbally abusive emails when I informed her I would no longer be volunteering at her agency. She also treated interns poorly even going so far as to refusing to sign someone's time sheet and delaying her being paid from another organization. She purports to be an agency of the highest caliber but this is false. There are many other agencies that truly help and provide services to clients and communities but this isn't once of them. Be aware!!!
