To recognize and reward students in grades 4-12 who are outstanding academic achievers and positive role models.
Description
The Carson Scholars Fund, co-founded by Johns Hopkins pediatric neurosurgeon, Dr. Benjamin Carson and his wife, Candy to recognize and reward students in elementary through high school who have earned the highest level of academic achievement. These scholars are awarded a $1000 scholarships that is invested toward their college education. Emphasis is placed on student's performance and desire to maintain a strong academic record, as well as their humanistic qualities that have a positive impact on society. The Fund also promotes Dr. Ben Carson's THINK BIG philosophy through the development of printed and interactive materials, events, programs, and collaborative community partnerships that are designed to foster academic excellence and positive personal growth.
