Mission Statement

ASSE's primary goal is to provide exchange programs which enable students to learn about other languages and cuktures while participating in family, school and community life. Through a one-to-one relationship, both students and families can feel that they are helping to achieve international understanding.

Description

ASSE is an Exchange Program that was originally established as American Scandinavian Student Exchange to provide opportunities for student exchange between Sweden and the United States. It cooperates closely with the provincial Ministries of Education in Canada and is approved by the New Zealand Ministry of Education. In the U.S.A., ASSE has been designated by the United States Department of State as an "exchange visitor program" and adheres strictly to its regulations. Since its inception, ASSE has expanded to include exchanges between more than 40 countries.
