Mission Statement

The Caribbean Education Foundation (CEF) mission is to enable poor children to have meaningful access to quality education in Jamaica and remaining Caribbean:

1. Bridge the Financial Gap to education to enable school attendance

2. Bridge the Nutrition Gap to education to enhance learning

3. Bridge the Computer Technology and Literacy gaps to education to compete globally.

To meet goals 1-2, CEF awards student scholarships to brilliant children to pay school fees, books, lunch & bus fares.

To address goal 3, CEF is creating a Learning Center which will address the educational needs of thousands of children in Kingston, Jamaica and provide them with the opportunity to excel in school, succeed in the community and thrive in the global world. The Center will be:

1. Computer Technology Center - Free computer literacy training

2. Homework Center - reliable electricity and space to do assigned projects and print

3. Tutoring Center - Literacy, Mathematics, Science, GSAT Prep and CXC Prep 4. Library, Literacy and Reading Center

Our current mission country is Jamaica. Public High Schools in Jamaica are NOT FREE. Each year, thousands of children are unable to attend school because parents cannot pay school fees and school-related costs.

CEF awards scholarships to children who are unable to attend public school because parents cannot pay the tuition and other school related costs. Our Scholarships pay school fees, purchase text books, school supplies, uniforms, meals and transportation.

In addition, hundreds of thousands of children in Jamaica do not have access to technology and possess low literacy skills. As a result of extreme poverty, thousands of Jamaican students, including many CEF Scholarship recipients, are unable to conduct research at home for homework, because they lack computers, regular electricity and/or internet access in their homes. And, the few children with computers are unable to print their papers and projects at home due to a lack of printers.

CEF's goal is to take action, to ensure things will change to break the poverty cycle and give our youth meaningful choices and opportunities in this world.

Help CEF aid our youth.

The CARIBBEAN EDUCATION FOUNDATION, INC. (CEF) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in the United States, dedicated to helping poor children receive meaningful access to quality education in the Caribbean.

The foundation operates exclusively for charitable and educational purposes and is governed by an independent Board of Directors. It enables poor children with meaningful access to fundamental education in the Caribbean.

The Caribbean Education Foundation is established on the principles in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, UN Declaration of Human Rights. CEF believes education is the cornerstone to choice and opportunity for all people.

CEF is committed to providing a solid education base for all children who are in financial need, particularly the underprivileged in urban and rural areas of Jamaica, the Caribbean and developing world. We believe educated persons are the most powerful assets for transforming the intellectual capital, economy and civil life in Jamaica, the Caribbean and developing world.

I am person who was born and raised in the innercity of Jamaica like many of these students I know first hand what it is like to go to school and needing help with finances. CEF is a great organization that is giving students the opportunity to go to school and become someone great in live, because many of these students do not have financial support without CEF they would be out of school working some dead end job, or walking the streets. CEF is also giving them the chance to reach their greatest potential. I have personally experience the results of this organization. A friend of mine son did received money to finish up college from CEF. Now he has graducated from college with a great job and baught a house for his mother and himself. He was born and raise in the gettho, and while his friends were caught up in bad things he went to school.
