Mission Statement

The Office of Special Services' (OSS) primary mission is to promote educational equality for students with disabilities. OSS is dedicated to facilitating equal access for students with disabilities, allowing full participation in educational programs, services, and campus activities through appropriate and reasonable accommodations.

Description

The OSS Tutorial Center offers specialized tutoring for Los Angeles City College students who have learning, visual, hearing, physical, or psychological disabilities. The tutoring process teaches students to utilize their learning strengths while mastering the use of appropriate academic accommodations. Tutors help students learn how to organize written work, read more efficiently, study more effectively, and understand math comcepts through individually designed learning materials.
