MNACHC's mission is to "promote the cost-effective delivery of affordable, quality primary health care services, with a special emphasis on meeting the needs of low income and medically underserved populations."
The Minnesota Association of Community Health Centers, MNACHC, promotes and advocates for affordable primary health care for all Minnesotans regardless of ability to pay. Established in 1980, MNACHC has a current membership of 17 community health centers, "CHCs," located throughout Minnesota that provide comprehensive medical, dental, and mental health care to patients in urban, rural and tribal areas. MNACHC members are Federally Qualified Health Centers, "FQHCs," which means they are community-based clinics that meet federal standards of quality in providing comprehensive primary and preventive health services and that they target their care to low-income, uninsured, and other underserved populations. Minnesota's FQHCs provide care to roughly 180,000 Minnesotans each year, including one out of every six state residents who are uninsured.
