Mission Statement
Our mission is to end the the AIDS epidemic and minimize its effects in the eight counties of Western New York by providing programs and services that encourage people to take responsibility for their health and quality of life.
Description
AIDS Community Services is nationally recognized as one of the most comprehensive centers of HIV care and prevention in the country. Our Division of Health and Supportive Services provides much needed services to more than 1,000 people living with HIV and their families. The highly trained staff of Evergreen Health Services provides primary care and HIV specialty care to more than 500 people living with HIV. The Division of Prevention Education provides rapid HIV testing, syringe exchange, preventiuon counseling and behavior change programs along with specialized programs for teens. For the past 25 years, the agency has grown to meet the growing number of new HIV/AIDS cases in Western New York -- from a staff of 1 in 1983 to a staff of 125 in 2009.
