Mission Statement

It is the goal of the Saratoga County for the Aging to provide information and assistance and services to the elderly population of Saratoga County, so that they can remain independent and in the least restrictive environment for as long as they are capable. The Office for the Aging also acts as a resource in the community that provides information and assistance about Long Term Care services for people of any age.

Description

The Saratoga County Office for the Aging receives its funding from the Federal Government under Title III of the Older Americans Act, the New York State Office for the Aging, and Saratoga County. Non-medical home and community based services are developed and coordinated through the Office for the Aging, many at no cost to the participant. Programs include home delivered and congregate meals, nutrition education and counseling, housekeeper/chore and personal care, transportation, legal, energy assistance, volunteer opportunities, family caregiver assistance, the ombudsman services, fitness classes, insurance and benefits counseling and assistance, Senior Community Service Employment Program and the Senior Identification Program.
