Mission Statement
Project Self-Sufficiency of Sussex County is a non-profit, community-based organization dedicated to improving the lives of low-income families in northwestern New Jersey. The agency's mission is to provide a broad spectrum of holistic, respectful, and comprehensive services enabling low-income single parents, teen parents, displaced homemakers and two-parent families to improve their lives and the lives of their children through the achievement of personal and economic self-sufficiency and family stability.
Description
Since 1986, Project Self-Sufficiency of Sussex County has served more than 18,000 families. The agency provides computer classes and job skills training; parenting workshops; life skills management training; legal education services; help with emergency basic needs; case management, referral and advocacy; counseling and peer support groups; literacy skills and GED preparation; childcare and early childhood education; financial literacy education; home visitation; mentoring; and health education.
