Mission Statement

The Tuscarora Nation of Indians of the Carolinas' mission is restore the spirit to Native Americans

Description

The Tuscarora Nation of Indians of the Carolinas (T.N.I.C.) has been operating as a 501 (c) 3 since 2004, to address the many needs of disenfranchised Native Americans. Tribal stats indicate a devastating number of High School dropouts (54.6%), people living below the state poverty level (44.1%), an extremely high unemployment rate (32.4%), and a very low household median income (20% below county average). Low functional literacy rates and a lack of work-skills contribute to the impoverished conditions, as do high rates of drug abuse, alcohol addiction, and poor health.
Our goal is to restore the spirit to this deserved people, break the cycle of despair, and work alongside them so they can improve their situations. Please help us to better serve them.
