Mission Statement

The mission of GEAR UP mentoring program is to support the greater GEAR UP Initiative by promoting a supportive and positive partnership between caring adults and middle school students that will inspire students to overcome life's obstacles and aspire to a higher education.

Description

Our organization seeks mentors for middle school age students. Our program is school based at three middle schools in the Long Beach Unified School District. In our mentoring program we teach life skills. We promote the thought that college is possible for everyone. We feel that at this age it's not too early to prepare for college.
