Shunpike aims to provide programs that infuse knowledge, accountability and sustainability into emerging projects and organizations in the arts. We do this in three different ways:
• Comprehensive back-office support services for a diverse slate of small and mid-sized arts groups. The Partner Artists program provides a broad platform of services in finance, risk management, fiscal sponsorship and donation management. In 2009, we expect to serve more than 75 groups through this program, which will make for almost 200% growth since 2007.
• Customized training and support in capacity building and organizational development. Through our Sustainable Organizations program, Shunpike provides workshops and outsourced support at 30-50% of market rates. Service areas include Board Development, Financial Systems, Fund Development and Strategic Planning. In 2009, we expect to team up with more than a dozen regional organizations on more than 60 projects in the above service areas.
• Public workshops and events. We offer free and low-cost workshops and events that allow arts groups to share crucial professional knowledge and build connections through networking.
