Mission Statement

"Run Free is a nonprofit organization dedicated to freeing abused children through Art." Violence is an unjust exercise of power, outrage, desecration, and profranation. It is sudden, forceful, and marked by great physical roughness. In the United States each day 13 children are killed by guns. In one month that would equate to a jumbo jet crashing! The number of "seriously injured" children from abuse totals more than 500,000 per year. Ninety-five percent of prison inmates were abused children. Who wounds their hearts, minds, spirits, wills, and bodies? Who hears their cries? Art communicates more insight than objective statistics. These children are not objects. They need a voice that can be heard loud and clear. "NO MORE!" Art gives them this voice. Art allows the emotion and pain locked deep inside the core of these small babes to be heard and seen and felt. Let these secrets out. Give the children a voice. The proposed art project is a transportable sculpture with life-castings of the faces of abused children. It is a 16 paneled structure that will "breathe" as it revolves. Water will be flowing down the sides, and colored lights will create various effects as it changes directions. All the elements of earth, wind, water and fire will be included plus the se nses of seeing, hearing, touching. Blind and deaf children can be included in this experience. We plan to have this art piece be a living part of communities all over the world. We are helping children to say "NO MORE!"
