Some 1700 Newsletters are sent to communities, organizations and local vendors, who like you, Support the Mission of Inland Valley Hope Partners! The mission of Inland Valley Hope Partners’ Gleaning HOPE Program is to salvage fresh fruits and vegetables from our neighbors in the surrounding communities. With your help we provide a gleaning crew that will travel to residences and glean (pick) the fruits and vegetables. The harvest is taken directly to our food banks in Claremont, San Dimas, Ontario, and Pomona. This program provides the homeless and hungry with fresh produce that often is not affordable to them. Since its inception in 2011, Gleaning HOPE has gleaned over 50,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables, and anyone THAT ENJOYS BEING OUTDOORS is welcome. We're looking for groupings of 3-5 volunteers to work together. We usually have our gleaning assignments on Fridays (any time) & Saturday mornings between 7am-11am. If you have a truck or SUV, volunteers are also needed to help deliver the harvest to the pantries. If you Enjoy Being Outdoors & Greeting People, Then This is for YOU! We have a Certified Farmer's Market every Saturday Morning Rain or Shine. Volunteers will be working directly with the manager to set up and break down the vendor booths, help assist the customers, and sell the fruits and vegetables along with stamping the food.
