Mission Statement
The Point/Arc of Northern Kentucky's mission is to provide opportunities to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach their highest potential educationally, residentially, socially and vocationally.
Description
The Point "fills the gap" for individuals with I/DD and their families, offering residential, vocational, social and educational opportunities unavailable through other area agencies. We offer participants the opportunity to socialize, to develop new interests through educational and vocational experiences, and to learn the independent living skills necessary to become productive, contributing members of the community. Open 7 days a week, The Point offers continuous support through periods of both crisis and relative stability. Last year, The Point offered vocational training/education for 136 adults with I/DD. The Activities Program provided 7,439 hours of service to the I/DD community. The Point's Educational Outreach program served over 8,000 children, ages 5 to 13 through its Everybody Counts Awareness program; and in 2009 the Advocacy Program provided services to the families of 262 children, ages 3 to 21. The Residential program currently serves 27 residents, and is preparing to open 2 more homes in 2011, providing 10 new residents a life-long home.
