To provide compassionate, quality heathcare servcies to those in need, including the poor and dying, for the purpose of alleviating human suffering and bringing people to wholeness in the midst of pain and loss.
Serving is our passion. Moments of good help happen through the service of a competent, healing and trustworthy team.
The Bon Secours Community Volunteer Department serves a number of different outreach programs:
- Care-A-Van - A mobile health clinic that travels throughout the Greater Richmond Metro Area to provide free primary, urgent, and preventative health care.
- Reach Out and Read - The nationally recognized Reach Out and Read program (ROR) provides books for young children when they visit the Richmond Community Hospital Emergency Department or the mobile medical CARE-A-VANS.
- Children's Outreach Services - Programs to address health and wellness for medically underserved children in the metro area. Issues addressed include infant mortality, children's asthma, childhood obesity, and injury prevention.
Volunteers are required to complete an on-line application, TB test, background check, and skills training prior to being scheduled as a regular committed volunteer.
Volunteer manager works with the volunteer to ensure a rewarding experience at any one of our numerous outreach sites.
