Beautiful Commission is a local, grassroots affiliate ofKeep America Beautiful, the nation's largest volunteerbased community action and education organization.
Beautification: Each year Keep Jacksonville Beautiful partners with a variety of organizations, businesses and private citizens to coordinate projects, annual city-wide and neighborhood cleanups of our community's beaches, river, and roads.
Through the Adopt-A-Road program, we collect more
than 480,000 pounds of litter each year and encourage personal responsibility for the cleanliness of our roadways.
Ask about how you can get involved with beautifying our community!
Outreach: To raise awareness, support beautification and reduce tolerance for litter and graffiti, Keep Jacksonville Beautiful sponsors educational programming for children, a speakers' bureau, community events and cleanups and printed educational fliers on the proper disposal of trash. We participate in over 65 events annually and touched more than 89 schools (that's 100,000 elementary students!) in the first year of our Don't Trash Jacksonville DVD campaign.
Advocacy: In addition to keeping our city clean, Keep Jacksonville Beautiful serves as an advocate to those who are concerned about the quality of our environment. We take a stand on local issues such as litter and sign ordinances, with the goal of protecting citizens' rights to live in a clean and pleasing environment .
