Mission Statement

Inner city youth have energy, enthusiasm, and great potential! However, because they often lack the support of family members and community, many lose hope and never see the fulfillment of their dreams.

Phoenix Inner City Kids' (PICK's) mission is to renew HOPE by providing youth with Help, Opportunities, Partnership, and Encouragement. By offering these four pillars of support PICK seeks to bring hope to the hopeless and to build trust and unity in the community; thus ensuring a positive and healthy future for the next generations.

Description

Phoenix Inner City Kids (PICK) is a mentoring and prevention program for at-risk and disadvantaged youth and has made a positive impact on inner city Phoenix for the past two decades.

PICK was birthed as a faith based prevention outreach for at-risk youth in 1988 by Teen Challenge of Arizona and Phoenix Inner City Church and was well known throughout the valley in the 1990's as the Flintstone Kids Program. In August of 2002 PICK obtained status as a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization assuming the name Phoenix Inner City Kids?

PICK's programs engage youth in healthy activities and provide opportunities for personal, social and physical growth. As a mentoring program with a strong message against drugs, substance abuse, and gangs, PICK strives to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of inner city youth and to guide them toward healthy lifestyle choices. In twenty four years of service to the inner city PICK has positively impacted thousands of inner city youth.
