Mission Statement

The mission of CASA is to find loving Forever Homes for all our healthy adoptable animals. We strive to provide quality care and service to the animals and people of our community while encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership.

Description

CASA was established in 1998 and has been at the same location ever since then.


CASA is a 501(c)(3) non profit shelter. We are contracted with Island County to provide temporary care and temporary housing for the impounded dogs of Camano Island. As part of that contract we receive a small monthly stipend from the county to care for dogs only.

CASA recognizes that cats are a large part of the animal population of Camano Island and, therefore, CASA provides care, housing, and adoption for as many cats as we can. Cat care is provided thanks to the generous donations of our community supporters.


Over 70% of our operating costs are covered by donations. THANK YOU!


CASA recognizes that finding forever homes for homeless animals is a community effort. When possible, we assist other shelters by taking animals (primarily dogs) that have been at their shelter for a prolonged period of time and could really benefit from a change of environment or different exposure they may receive at our shelter.
