Mission Statement

The Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) progam of Southern Maryland is a non-profit organization which advocates for the best interests of abused and neglected children. The program recruits and trains volunteers to advocate for the best interests of these children in juvenile court proceedings in St. Mary's County, Calvert County, and Charles County.

Description

CASA of Southern Maryland is a program of the Center for Children which provides comprehensive mental health and advocacy services to children and families. We currently have thirty-five volunteers and serve over fifty children. Our goal is to maintain a roster of sixty active volunteers and serve 100% of the children adjudicated a Child in Need of Assistance (CINA) due to abuse and/or neglect and referred to the CASA program.
