Mission Statement

Here at Children’s Bible Fellowship we believe that effective ministry is done by fulfilling the Great Commission, which is to go out and make disciples. Our goal is to disciple those we come in contact with through our various programs as they grow in their knowledge of Christ, because we believe they are valuable in God's eyes. We have designed our programs to provide solid biblical teaching that under-girds our year-round ministry.

Description

Camp Joy, established in the 1940's for the inner city children of New York City, was the initial camp program. Camp Joy's purpose is to introduce children and their families from the New York metropolitan area into a growing relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ by providing camping and discipleship ministries and encouraging involvement in a local church.

CBF grew in 1952 to include Camp Hope for those with physical or developmental disabilities. Camp Hope's purpose is to minister to NYC metropolitan area's children and adults with disabilities and their families: evangelizing and discipling through summer camp and year round follow up and encouraging involvement in the local church. Relationships with God and with friends are the heart of the program.

CBF also has developed year round urban ministries to follow up with children, young people and adults who have attended summer camp programs. Staff missionaries conduct evangelism door to door and on the street corners. Discipleship is done through visiting the homes of the campers regularly and conducting Bible studies. Weekend retreats are held throughout the year.
