Mission Statement

The mission of the Watershed Agricultural Council is to support the economic viability of agriculture and forestry through the protection of water quality and the promotion of land conservation in the New York City Watershed region.

Description

We work with over 1,000 farm and forest landowners in the NYC watershed to protect clean drinking water for nine million NYC residents while promoting land conservaiton measures and economic viability in watershed communities. We have three programs in agriculture, forestry and conservation easements. We also host two economic initiatives, the buy local branding campaign Pure Catskills for Catskill; region agriculture and wood products, farmers, and producers.
