Children and siblings who are going through the cancer journey do not have enough opportunities to participate in programs that influence their quality of life. They are straddled with the weight of their diagnosis, the impact that has on their family unit as a whole and a lack of tools to deal with their new reality. They suffer through deep emotional times, whether they are the child diagnosed, the siblings trying to navigate their newfound feelings of guilt and isolation, or the parents simply trying to keep it all together. Our goal is to help children and families understand that they have advocates in their corner, and quality of life programs like Seany’s Camp Reach for the Sky, give them a positive escape and support network for the challenges they are facing.
