Mission Statement

Purpose. The corporation is organized for the purpose of providing educational resources in order to stimulate downtown revitalization in Raytown. We will use the Main Street Program four-point approach of organization(encouraging cooperation, recruiting members, and building leadership in the business community); promotion (creating a positive image for downtown and promoting it as a viable place to live, shop, and invest); economic restructuring (developing business retention, expansion and recruitment strategies) and design (providing design education and assistance to improve the appearance of downtown).The corporation shall act in a charitable manner and will receive, administer, and distribute funds in connection with any activities related to the above purpose; provided, however, that The Organization shall engage only in activities that are in the purview of Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 or corresponding sections of any prior or future law The Organization shall aspire to remain in good standing with the national Main Street Center.

Description

Raytown Main Street Association (RMSA) began with several downtown businessmen and women in 2007. The formed a Board have since then become incorporated and are in process of getting the 501c3. RMSA is a member of the National Main Street and Missouri Main Street organizations. Main Street organizations work at helping local business communities in "growing" their downtown areas and assisting government and chambers to aid in revitalizing their local community.

Volunteers are needed for the four main committees: Organizaton, Design, Promotions and Economic Development and for administrative assistance in the RMSA office.
