Mission Statement

The West Hartford Art League was founded in 1934 as an art school and incorporated in 1939 as a non-profit organization. Our mission is to "educate and inspire artists and the public through classes, exhibitions and community outreach."

Description

The West Hartford Art League is a non-profit arts organization with over 600 members from over 50 towns throughout CT.

We offer a variety of art classes for all ages and abilities in mediums that include painting, drawing, digital photography, collage and pottery.

We offer monthly exhibits in our two galleries of local and regional exhibits, including CT+5 every spring, which features work of artists from the New England states.

We believe in supporting our community and produce ArtWalk every fall, a juried exhibit that places artwork in merchants storefront windows for three weeks. We also started an Art in Public Places program, and have commissioned and placed large scale sculpture on public land in town on loan.

We are a volunteer based organization that relies on volunteers to help us with our many programs throughout the year.
