The mission of Muskegon CASA is to provide trained citizen volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children involved in court proceedings.
Muskegon CASA began advocating for Muskegon's children in 1992, and now operates under the auspices of the Child Abuse Council of Muskegon County. The program continues to grow, training new volunteers every year. The total number of current advocates is 50. Commitment, availability and objectivity - this is what describes these individuals who in 2004 advocated on behalf of 85 children. And this is what Muskegon CASA would like to bring to twice as many children in 2005-2006. The program provides professional staff support to all of the volunteers, ensuring that children receive sound advocacy.
