Mission Statement

Earth Walk's mission is to connect inner-city children from low-income families in Denver, ages 9-12, with one another, their communities, and nature to significantly improve their chances of becoming healthy, responsible, caring, competent, and environmentally knowledgeable young adults who contribute positively to their environments and communities. Our hope is to provide young people with the skills and inspiration to become the environmental stewards and community leaders of the future. Additionally, we aim to give children the resiliency and personal skills to get through their middle and high school years in a healthy manner.

Description

Our specific goals are to build understanding and respect for the natural world; to increase engagement in school and community; to develop leadership, conflict resolution and social and emotional skills; to teach children understanding and respect for cultural differences; to complete environmental service projects that benefit the communities; and to prevent violence among our children.
