To enable low-income individuals and families to become economically self-sufficient and independent of government and community sponsored assistance programs for basic needs.

Description

The Jeffco Self-Sufficiency Council (JeSSC) is a non-profit organization that has successfully helped low-income families become independent since 1991. JeSSC's program focuses on helping the adults in these families develop needed skills and find employment that will move the family off all public assistance, not just cash welfare grants. JeSSC also provides extensive services to help the children do well in school, while their parents are working towards financial independence.
