Mission Statement
The mission of the Chester Education Foundation is to support educational excellence and promote community revitalization in the Chester Upland School District.
Description
Chester Education Foundation (CEF) was initiated in 1988 by institutions including the Pew Charitable Trusts, Scott Paper, Widener University and others. CEF was incorporated in 1989 as a private, non-profit organization with a 501(c)(3) status. CEF's goals are to build critically needed educational, enrichment and prevention programs throughout the elementary, middle and high schools, to facilitate community-wide revitalization efforts, to increase the involvement of residents in the planning and delivery of services, and to strengthen the capacity of the local human service community to meet the needs of Chester's children and youth and their families.
