Mission Statement

The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortaity.

Description

As the leading national health organization dedicated to saving babies' lives, the March of Dimes conducts and funds programs of research, community services, education and advocacy. Since its founding by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1938, the foundation has a 70 year track record of success in saving millions of babies from death and disability and bringing people together to solve complex health challenges. To fund this mission, the Lansing Division of the March of Dimes hosts two annual events: a March for Babies, held in the spring and a Signature Chefs Auction, held in the fall.
