Mission Statement

Urban Farming's mission is to create an abundance of food for people in need by planting gardens on unused land and space while increaseing diversity, educating youth, adults, and seniors and providing an environmentally sustainable system to uplift communities.

Description

We plant food on vacant land, give it to people in need, and improve the safety and beauty of communities through our Urban Farming Community and Green Science Gardens. We provide financial education and entrepreneurial opportunities through in our Urban Farming Youth and Adult Entrepreneurship Program. We offer job training and opportunities through our Urban Farming Environmental Justice and Green Collar Jobs Program. We teach people about food, nutrition, and healthy choices in our Urban Farming Health and Wellness Program. Our programs offer impoverished neighborhoods facing incredible problems a comprehensive, sustainable and healing solution transforming them into vibrant communities.
