Mission Statement

The Foster Grandparent Prgram engages persons 60 and older, particularly those with limited incomes, in volunteer service to meet critial comunity needs and to provide a high quality experience that will enrich the lives of volunteers. Also, Foster Grandparents give back to the community by mentoring and offering a loving presence in the lives of special needs youth in various community settings.

Description

  • 60 (+) years or older
  • able to dedicate 15-40 hours per week
  • be in good physical/mental health
  • be able to meet certain income criteria
  • be able to give and receive love from developmentally disabled and at risk children at special education, Head Start and drug rehab. centers and homeless shelters.
