Mission Statement

Haitian Street Kids, Inc. gives voice and refuge to the abused and abandoned child slaves of Haiti. We help them achieve their right to dignity, self-reliance, education, health and security.

Description

Haitian Street Kids, Inc. is an advocacy organization and home for the street kids and abandoned child slaves/restaveks of Haiti. Currently, there are no penalties for physical, mental or sexual abuse of child slaves in Haiti. Neither have they had a resource for sanctuary or a strong voice to let their suffering be known. We provide that voice and aggressively advocate Haiti's recognition of childrens rights and eventual abolishment of the tradition of child slavery. We actively seek out restavek children and street kids who have been abandoned or are being abused. We remove abused child slaves from the owners and give them a loving home where they will receive all the benefits a child deserves.
