Mission Statement

The Salvation Army, an international movement is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is baed on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of god. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Description

The Salvation Army of Racine Wisconsin, has a Senior Citizen Center and Youth center on premis. Our Senior Citizen program runs daily 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. providing seniors with a hot meal at noon, billard room, board games, card playing, crafts, bingo, trips, and other activities. Our Youth Center is open from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday - Friday providing after school programs for youth to participate in gym activities, basketball, roller skating etc. craft projects, snack time, they also receive help with homework and are able to work in the computer lab. Parties and trips are also offered to the children. On Wednesday evenings enrichment programs are available, these are similar to scouting programs but are religion based. Our center is also the central referral location for the food pantries of Racine. All persons in need of emergency food or clothing must obtain a referral from The Salvation Army to take to pantries in Racine. We also have a food and clothing pantry on site open Monday and Wednesday which provides food and clothing. Church and Sunday School is provided every Sunday beginning at 9:00 a.m. for Sunday school offering classes for children to adults, Sunday services begin at 11:00 a.m. Bible study is held on Thursday nights. A women's social group, "Home Leage" has meetings on Mondays from 1:00 - 3:00 these meetings include special programs, trips, and devotion. League of Mercy meets every Tuesday 1:00 - 4:00 providing music and fellowship to nursing home residents.
