Mission Statement

The mission of CASA of the Third Judicial District is to recruit, train and supervise volunteers from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds to assist the court in protecting the best interests of abused and neglected children and thus improve the system's treatment of this vulnerable population.

Description

CASA of the Third Judicial District is a permanent program of the Arkansas Sheriffs' Youth Ranches. The program serves children in Sharp, Lawrence, Jackson and Randolph counties. Incorporated by Arkansas's 75 sheriffs in 1976, the Ranch has a vision to be recognized statewide as an innovative leader whose programs, services and partnerships help assure that no child in Arkansas is without a safe, secure and permanent place to call home. The Ranch and its associated programs are funded by the generosity of approximately 33,000 contributors who support the philosophy that "it is better to build a child than to repair an adult."
