Piedmont CASA trains and supports community Volunteers who advocate in court for abused and neglected children. CASA Volunteers conduct independent investigations and make recommendations to the judges regarding the children's best interests, promoting safe, permanent and nurturing homes.
Founded in 1995, Piedmont CASA has trained over 600 Volunteers, who have advocated for nearly 1,700 abused and neglected children in Charlottesville, Albemarle, Greene, and Louisa. Last year, we served 234 children, who ranged in age from newborn to 18.
Piedmont CASA is managed by a 15-member Board of Directors and employs eight professional staff.
