Mission Statement

CASA is a non-profit membership organization that advocates for the best interest of abused and neglected children. CASA supports the development, growth and continuation of programs which recruit and train volunteers to serve the abused and neglected children in juvenile dependency proceedings.

Description

CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, are trained community volunteers who are appointed by the juvenile court judge to speak for the best interest of abused and neglected children who are brought into the court system. The assigned CASA conducts an independent investigation ensuring that the child remains safe until there is a permanent resolution. With the information provided by a CASA volunteer, the judge is able to make informed decisions as to what is best for the child - foster care, adoption or reunification. CASA keeps the focus on the child as he/she moves thrugh the complexity of the court system. CASA believes that every child deserves a safe, loving permanent home.
