Mission Statement

The Mission of the King County Housing Authority is to provide quality affordable housing opportunities and to build communities through partnerships. We encourage self-sufficiency and we protect the dignity of people with limited resources while safeguarding the public trust.

Description

Established in 1939, King County Housing Authority provides high quality, affordable housing options for the residents of King County, Washington. KCHA houses over 32,000 residents in 12,000 units dispersed among 23 suburban cities and unincorporated areas of King Co. Through partnerships with local communities and nonprofit organizations, KCHA supports its residents by providing education and training, economic opportunities and social services. Our integrated approach helps families in subsidized housing to move towards independence and self-sufficiency within 5 years. We are proud of our eighth consecutive HUD rating as a "high Performing" agency. In 1999, for the 4th consecutive year, KCHA received a perfect HUD Public Housing Management Assessment Program score of 100%.
