Mission Statement

CASA's mission is to advocate for the best interest of children alleged to be neglected or abused and appointed to us through the Juvenile Courts.

We will accomplish this by recruiting, training, and supervising dedicated community volunteers. Following sucessful completion of training, volunteers are sworn in by the Judges to be Court Appointed Special Advocates.

Court Appointed Special Advocates will research and relay accurate information to the court, speaking up for the children in all court hearings, monitoring the home or foster care services. This will facilitate placement for children in a safe, healthy, permanent home in a expedient manner. The goal being to protect the children by having a stable loving family raise them, whether biologically, relatives, or through adoption.

CASA ensures children are not 'lost' in the system of the Courts and foster care, and in preventing abuse, helps prevent juvenile delinquency.

Description

Serving alleged abused/neglected children in Sullivan and Hawkins Counties as appointed by the Juvenile Courts. To investigate and make recommendations to the judge in the best interest of the child.
