Mission Statement

To end domestic violence through serving victims of family violence, educating the public, and working to eliminate economic, social and cultural conditions and attitudes that contribute to the perpetuation of domestic violence.

Description

Through the main office in Baton Rouge, and outreach offices in Ascension, E. Feliciana. Iberville and Pointe Coupee Parishes, the Battered Women's Program provides a 24-hour crisis hotline, emergency shelter, counseling, advocacy, emergency assistance, transportation, information, support and referrals for victims of domestic violence and their children. The Legal Services component of the program provides legal assistance, advocacy, representation and referrals to victims of domestic violence.
