Mission Statement

The Creative Arts Consortium has been in existance since 1991. Its mission is to promote the artistic, literary, and performing art talents of persons with mental illness, and to educate the community that persons with severe mental illness have great talents and the potential to integrate into the working world. CAC is also charged with promoting collaboration and cooperation between mental health clients and their families, and the development of job potential for clients.

Description

The CAC has over 1,000 client members in San Diego County who have the opportunity to participate in art and writing contests and performances, art exhibits, variety shows, poetry readings, movie showings and multi media events. Free art and writing classes are offered in the community. CAC organizes exhibits, and leases works from its library for public and corporate sites.
