Seafarers Center - Albany Maritime Ministry

Description

We operate a Seafarers House in the Port of Albany, to welcome, orient, and assist the seafarers arriving by ship from around the world. We board the ships to welcome, and inform of our services which include providing phone cards and phones to contact families; access to internet for e-mail and "hometown" newspapers; recreation, support, and counseling; transportation by van for shopping, cultural and worship events. We also provide support and advocacy in cases of seafarers rights - medical assistance, etc.
