Description

We are a non-profit organization specializing in drug education and a harm reduction approach to drug use. Our goal is to reduce drug related harm by providing accurate health and safety information to people who choose to use drugs. Harm reduction is a set of practical strategies to reduce the negative consequences of drug use, including methods of safer use, managed use, and abstinence. We address both conditions of use and use itself. We acknowledge that licit and illicit substance use is a part of our society and choose to minimize any related harm. We do not encourage or condemn substance use, but recognize the reality of drug use and aim to help make that use less harmful. We acknowledge that harm related to drug use is often easily preventable. We acknowledge that some ways of using drugs are safer than others. We support drug policy reform as a means to reduce harm related to drug use. We view addiction as a health problem rather than a legal problem. We acknowledge that our current law enforcement based tactic of dealing with substance abuse has not worked. We do not attempt to deprecate or exaggerate the harms associated with drug use. Propaganda in either direction is counter productive and often very harmful. Truth and fact are necessary tools in education.
