Art Start

Mission Statement

The purpose of Art Start is to value and encourage the voices, hearts and minds of children who are "at risk" and help them explore their dreams through the arts. We accomplish this by using a learner-centered approach to arts education that equips under-served children and teenagers with learning, creating and communication skills, and helps them build a lasting connection to the arts. Offered in a supportive environment, our innovative programs challenge our students to ask important questions, make independent choices and seek meaningful opportunities to share their ideas and visions.
