Court Appointed Special Advocates of Washington County, Maryland, Inc. will recruit, screen, train and supervise volunteers to serve as advocates for children in adjudicated cases of child abuse and neglect to contribute positive outcomes in child, family and community welfare in Washington County, Maryland.

POSITION DESCRIPTION VOLUNTEER ADVOCATE
Program Goals
To advocate for children who are subjects of adjudicated cases of abuse or neglect.
To provide objective, independent and factual information to the courts regarding the "best interests" of abused or neglected children.
To monitor compliance of court orders for referred cases.
Program Objectives
To conduct thorough, independent research regarding the welfare of children within court referred adjudicated cases of child abuse or neglect.
To conduct file research, interviews and observations relative to the formation of assessments and recommendations provided to the courts.
To provide written reports with recommendations relative to the "best interests" of children to the courts.
