TikTok Lead Coordinator StandUp for Kids - Oceanside was launched in 2001 with a single focus: to end the cycle of youth homelessness in our community. We work to provide basic needs, housing, mentoring support, care, and love to at-risk and homeless youth ages 12-24. We are looking for a TikTok Manager that will be the lead for planning, creating, and posting content consistently on the StandUp for Kids TikTok. Their main goal is to grow the account and will work directly with the Fundraising & Marketing Manager to ensure all content aligns with our values and represents StandUp for Kids in a positive manner. As the TikTok Lead Coordinator, you will: Plan and execute daily TikTok posts Create and maintain a TikTok content calendar with the Fundraising & Marketing Manager Increase engagement and brand awareness Impact organization growth by creating and coordinating engaging content Research TikTok trends and platform developments Curate and write relevant content to reach the audience most likely to donate/partner/collaborate with us Qualifications: Ability to plan and manage work independently Superior verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational and planning skills Strong sense of personal integrity Sincere desire to help homeless and street kids Some knowledge of Publisher or other software programs helpful Newsletter or website editor experience or desire to develop the skills to create and maintain organizational communication channels Job Type: Volunteer position Remote, with occasional in-person events and/or meetings (Covid-19 safety protocols apply) Time Commitment: Minimum 3-5 hours per week (volunteers are responsible for tracking their hours and sending them to the Executive Director at the end of each month) Monthly Team Meeting Additional Requirements: Background check ($18 submission fee) StandUp for Kids’ volunteer orientation Please use this online form to apply StandUp for Kids has been implementing strict Covid-19 protocols to ensure a safe environment for all our staff, volunteers, and the people we serve. l As a leader: Attend leadership meetings, major events, and necessary trainings Communicate frequently with other members of the leadership team l In a nutshell: Increase visibility of youth homelessness without increasing the vulnerability of homeless youth l Increase StandUp For Kids' profile in the community, as well as online Establish and strengthen important partnerships with organizations, individuals and institutions to the benefit of the youths we serve (through increased organizational capacity, increased options/diversions for youth, and the meeting of common needs) Work with the director of Community Resource Development to know key contacts at, and network with, related organizations Attend meetings of other homeless and child advocacy groups Plan a homelessness summit with other organizations once per year Write articles for our newsletter that highlight advocacy issues Publish dates of local homelessness meetings/events on our online calendar Write guest articles in other agency's newsletters that highlight our work Work with the Director of Public Relations to write pieces and get coverage related to youth homelessness in Orange County l Use powers of democracy to improve the conditions of homeless youth Advocate for less punitive, more compassionate laws for homeless and at-risk youth Advocate for changes in related systemic laws Establish relationships with policymakers at local and state level, inform them of upcoming legislation, meet with them, and ask them to support our issues Establish a "StandUp For Kids Day" in Orange County through city resolution Develop a Homeless Youth Bill of Rights Perform 'direct actions’ with or independent of other community-mobilizing organizations. l Establish a knowledge base related to youth homelessness Understand the issues and who can best address them Conduct research and provide information on global developments, conferences, policies, issues and trends in youth homelessness Procure updated statistics and trends related to the number and circumstances of homeless youth in Orange County Find gaps or contradictions in our knowledge base and encourage remedies Research and compile state and local laws and ordinances related to homelessness and our work with such Collect, compile and distribute knowledge in unique ways (events, web portal, etc.) l Support volunteers/advocates through advocacy-specific training Conduct periodic training for volunteers on issues related to youth homelessness; invite knowledgeable speakers

PR Internship - Broadcast Journalism & Public Relations Duties: During this internship, the students will be working on short marketing videos; interviews; and other articles that will be uploaded for a live feed on our website, Facebook, and other social media pages. These mini productions may involve interviewing, coordinating script, research, shooting footage, selecting footage and editing. Student will also be responsible for the following: · Create Evergreen Content · Writing one blog-style article a week · Creating white papers · Researching new media and blogging contacts and conducting outreach · Newsletter; Interviewing sponsors, teens and volunteers and produce human-interest pieces for publication. · Develop Social Media strategy resulting in increased brand awareness and relevance in the Teen Community · Create editorial calendar for all content related to strategy implementation · Oversee efforts for grassroots messaging and content placement on social media outlets as defined in strategy such as blogs, message boards, social networks, video upload hubs, etc. · Manage all relationships, assignments and content from contributors · Collaborate with executive team and key volunteers to develop relevant stories ideas and content direction · Work directly with volunteers to create unique content including text stories, podcasts and videos · Act as editor of all content mixing self-created content, and contributed content to achieve consistent tone of voice and regular entries within various social media vehicles Additional Exposure: Student may also be exposed to researching media outlets, pitching stories to media, event sponsor solicitation and follow-up, updating and developing media and sponsor lists, following up with media, Film and represent SUFKS at events, scheduling interviews with media, writing press releases, and media alerts. This Internship is a great way to get a taste of non-profit development. This is an excellent opportunity for a well-spoken "people person" who's interested in building their resume and gaining new skills & experience in broadcast journalism, public relations, event planning and project management. Hours: This internship offers a flexible schedule with a six-eight hour a week minimum commitment. Interns may be asked to attend an occasional special event on a Saturday or Sunday. Interns are required to attend one weekly strategy meeting location and time to be determined by group. · Requirements: Students who are currently attending an accredited college and have achieved junior or senior status are eligible. A variety of majors qualify including Journalism, Broadcasting, Communication, Public Relations, and Advertising. Participants must have good computer skills, videography experience, be a self-starter who excels at generating story ideas and meeting deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities and knowledge of current events. A 3.0 GPA or above is recommended. Students must be able to meet the minimum time commitment. Compensation: The position is not paid, but we are happy to work with any academic requirements the intern may have, for college credit for their efforts or serve as a reference for future career pursuits. The Social Media Moderator will ensure smooth and proper utilization of our StandUp for Kids online forum and become the expert in terms of social media functionality and optimization. This is a great opportunity to donate time, resources, and talent to support our important mission.
