Mission Statement

The Washington Poison Center's mission is to protect and enhance the health and quality of life of all the citizens of the state of Washington. Our primary purpose is to reduce illnesses, injuries, and deaths associated with poisonings, overdoses, and accidental exposures to toxic materials.

Description

Poisonings are the third leading cause of accidental death in the United States - behind only car accidents and shootings. The Washington Poison Center provides free emergency medical advice and poison prevention information to the public and health care providers, 24-hours-a-day, throughout the state of Washington. We serve nearly 100,000 people annually, making us one of the busiest poison centers in the world.
