Description
In 1893, Morristown Memorial Hospital opened its doors with 15 beds, one physician, four practical nurses, one student nurse, a matron, cook, laundress, and janitor. The hospitalâ s opening was made possible by volunteers from The Womenâ s Association of Morristown Memorial Hospital. Volunteers have a long and proud tradition at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Today, Volunteer Services is proudly made up of over 1,200 dedicated volunteers who give time each year to our hospital in over 50 areas of opportunity. Morristown Memorial Hospital is an Atlantic Health System 575-bed hospital located in Morristown, New Jersey. Morristown Memorial offers specialized services including cardiology and cardiac surgery, adult and pediatric oncology, critical and emergency care, inpatient rehabilitation services, obstetrics, and neonatal intensive care services. Morristown Memorial is also a Level II Trauma Center, a Level III regional perinatal center and a regional pediatric center. It operates the largest Photopheresis (FDA-approved treatment for lymphoma) center in the United States and the only one in New Jersey.
