Mission Statement

Our mission is to protect the Edwards Aquifer, its springs, and contributing streams, and the natural and cultural heritage of its Hill Country watersheds, with special emphasis on the Barton Springs Edwards Aquifer.

Description

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit group. We are a community-based organization using law, science, and economics to protect the Edwards Aquifer. Fundamentally, we seek to steer development to the east and downstream of the Aquifer through advocacy and education. We employ scientists, lawyers, educators, and others to achieve our goals. We believe there are 4 basic methods for protecting the Edwards Aquifer and its great springs: reasonable regulation; infrastructure and investment policies; permanent protection; environmental education.
